Fred W. Giffels

The G of HGP, and one of the original three founders of Hawks, Giffels & Pullin (HGP) Inc. Mr. Giffels helped form the firm in 1985 in Houston, Texas, along with two other principals, Mr. Hawks who retired and Mr. Pullin who left the firm to pursue other interests.

Mr. Giffels initially served as the Executive Vice President of Operations and Business Development for the firm, where he headed up all Client project engagements and business development activities from 1985 until 1990. He has been the CEO of the firm for the last 20 years and is responsible for the continuous profitability, day to day operations, and long range strategic and tactical planning.

Mr. Giffels has over 38 years of progressive Executive, Program, and Large scale Project Management experience in the Energy and Engineering Construction industries. He has actively led developing renewable energy projects along with baseload generation projects to firm up renewable projects in an effort to decrease the "carbon footprint" in the USA and the world.

HGP's CEO is a nationally recognized expert, having proffered testimony in a number of different federal, state and local jurisdictions.

He is one of a select group of Executives who have experience in the full spectrum of Electrical Power Generation: Renewable Energy (Wind, Solar, Bio-Mass, Small Hydro, and Combo's) as well as Nuclear, Fossil (Gas, Coal, Oil, Waste), Large Scale Hydro and Alternative Energy Pilot plants.

He is a highly sought-after energy executive consultant, rendering accurate technical and financial analysis, and unique "Out of the Box" risk mitigation and valuation concepts. He brings enthusiasm and a high level of energy and dedication to each assignment as well as a level of experience and teamwork that is hard to match by any of HGP's competitors.

Prior to joining HGP, Mr. Giffels held positions of increasing management responsibly culminating in executive and senior management positions at Fluor, Fluor-Daniel Construction, Daniel Construction Company, Pizzagalli Construction, Delian/PMII, Brown and Root, and Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation (now part of the Shaw Group).

Fred is one of the initial founding members of the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green Kentucky, is a "certified car nut", and long term supporter of the "Meals On Wheels" charity. He also serves on various renewable energy and nuclear industry committees, as well as being a director on a non-profit renewable energy company.



Garth Erdmann

Garth is a Senior Consultant with HGP and is the head of Information Technology (IT). He has over twenty-two (22) years of professional experience providing computer, management and technical services to the electric utility, financial/banking, engineering/construction, and architectural design industries, and attorneys. He has been predominantly involved in information management and systems, data analysis and the design of information management systems, management and technical support, computer application support and programming, computer graphics, desktop publishing and presentations, and technical writing. Garth received his Bachelor of Arts in Geological Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1977, and his Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1982, and is a member of the Society of Mining Engineers (SME) of AIME.
